The Project
5th Avenue is the heart and soul of East Central.
Area businesses, nonprofits, and churches have been working to enhance 5th Avenue as a catalyst for a renewed vision in East Central. The 5th Avenue Community Plan will build on ongoing efforts to create a shared vision and outline specific next steps and actions needed to create a neighborhood that is a safe, healthy, and thriving community for all residents. The vision will be created through a codesign process that shares power between the City and community. This multi-faceted project reflects the diversity of East Central Spokane, and the outcome will support efforts to foster neighborhood identity and enhance quality of life for citizens and businesses along the 5th Avenue corridor.
The City of Spokane is co-creating the ReFIVE Community Plan to establish a community-led framework of goals and policies for future land use, economic growth, connectivity, and quality of life improvements for the 5th Avenue community in the East Central neighborhood.
